I consider myself a Jean of all Trades when I think about my Artistic Practice, but I draw something every day. Whether I apply that drawing to Pottery, digital media, or my kitchen counter; I stay consistent with my love of expression through design, color, and line.
Let me help you express passion for what you love to do!
Charles “Chazz” Miller is a life-long, Detroit-based, community-driven artist, muralist, and teacher. He is an integral part of many of its neighboring communities. In his public artworks, he engages neighborhood residents with the goal to uplift and inspire community members to use their creativity, and foster their cultural pride. His process encourages them to stop looking and start seeing as they co-create a vision for their lives. Through this interaction and engagement, there’s an exchange and in that exchange Chazz artworks become a beacon voice of Detroit African American culture. His imagery is a passionate and accurate reflection of the historical struggle, cultural voice, and the daily life practices within Detroit’s neighborhoods. From this process, the imagery that Chazz creates is a mixture of pain, struggle, and endurance to hope and self-realization in a style he refers to as “Imaginary Realism” resulting from his public and fine art practice.

I have been working and exhibiting artwork in the Detroit area and beyond for the last 15 years. Since 2014 I’ve been working out of 333 Midland Studios and Gallery in Highland Park, MI. In the last several years I've also been painting murals all around the area (and flew to Santiago, Chile in 2019 to take part in the Villa Francia mural festival). The work I am uploading is just an example; it's a mural I painted inside a Ferndale bar/restaurant in early March 2020. If selected for this project, I'd paint something that highlights and accentuates the food objects.
Drawn to Detroit is a collection of free-hand drawings. Both original drawings and digital prints created by Detroiter, Leah Carroll. Inspired by Detroit and its history, beauty, charm, and tradition. Leah started Drawn to Detroit as a result of an assignment from her Graduate Program at Wayne State. The process of creating the freehand drawings became a therapy in between the grind of work and school. Redirecting her to one of her true passions, drawing. Drawn to Detroit is a way to explore the city and give reverence to the landmarks, hot spots, classics, and iconic-must-visit places! Each drawing is created in real time, viewing the building, and or by a photo taken of the structure in its current state. Drawn to Detroit shares both drawings and how many are “drawn” from near and far to visit the comeback city and its renaissance!
Cordero Ebberhart is an illustrator born and raised in Detroit and has found his passion in art at a young age. He will be graduating from College for Creative Studies with his BFA in illustration. Cordero specializes in painting and designing expressive art that conveys emotion and energy. Many people have sought out his work for personal portraits and/or a design for original characters. Cordero's main objective is creating art that gives people the same sensational feelings he receives from creating and viewing art. He has worked on two major projects such as, a personal park project design and a hot dog cart logo. The art work attached is the hot dog cart logo that was designed for a small business owner. The owner wanted to use their younger daughter's drawing as their logo and had commissioned for it to be refined. The drawing resembled that of a cartoon and the owner wanted to keep the character from the drawing while bringing it to life.
